  • Such a great way to spend the afternoon in Gozo! I’d never ridden an e-bike before so i didn’t really know what to expect but they were very fun and easy to ride. But the highlight of our tour was our amazing guide Steve, he catered to all of our needs and has impeccable knowledge of the island. This was the highlight of our holiday in Malta so far!

  • 5 star ratingAmazing! You must take this tour! Highly recommended. Our guide Javier was just lovely and showed us all his favourite places including the local bakery. You should try the bread rings. We would definitely try another of the segway tours next time we visit. Exceptional value for money too.

  • 4 star ratingAn ecological place of high importance As we own a small apartment on the Island of Gozo, which we purchased for our retirement days, we make it a point to seek and find places of interest to visit on regular weekends. It was a lovely sunny day when we decided to head towards Saint Raphael Lake (San Raflu). The lake lies in a small rural area just outside the locality of Kerċem, at the south-west of the island of Gozo. It is approximately 148 metres above sea level and it is surrounded by two of the most important bays in Gozo; the Dwejra Bay to the left, and the Xlendi Bay to the right. The whole area is situated on layers of Upper, Middle and Lower Globigerina limestone (Franka ta’ Fuq, tan-Nofs u ta’ Taħt), which make up the base of the whole San Raflu area. The view is breath taking.

San Raflu has always been a center for agricultural activity, which has grown in the twentieth century. It is called San Raflu u Sarraflu most probably after the Archangel St. Raphael, although the reason for this is quite unknown. The area centers around a man-made hole which gathers water and is home to several different marine organisms and other freshwater forms of life, such as ducks, fish, and frogs. Originally, the Maltese native frog (Discoglossus pictu) inhabited the pond. As the soil is quite fertile it also boasts of a diversity of flora and fauna throughout the year, making it an ecological place of high importance.

From what one can notice, the farming techniques used in the area are on the whole more primitive in respect of another agricultural area, and this may very positive, as contamination of the soil is being avoided. Certainly, the quarrying industry is the most active in the area, with workers depending on it on a daily basis, however, this has not interfered with the natural landscape of the area.

It was an enjoyable day of sightseeing which came to an end after we stayed around to feed the numerous ducks with freshly baked bread bought from a bakery nearby.

  • Loved the tour. Guide was great. Laid back, sincere. Saw many beautiful places and the eBikes themselves were a blast and get you places it would be hard to get. 4 stars because the communication before the trip should have been better. Wasn't told it would not be Kevin giving the tour (the guide was great, though), we were only told after the reservation that the time would be 2 hours earlier because of the season (why not update that on airbnb then?), we weren't given any special seasonal advice about what to wear (it says to bring a swimsuit, which is silly this time of year): felt generally like the organizer didn't care enough to update the info.

  • 5 star ratingGreat experience on a blisteringly hot day We booked last minute but they were able to fit us in. Hubby was a bit dubious but we all loved it! Just the amazing technology was a surprise but coupled with a fun but patient guide (Peter) we saw some 'off the beaten track' sights on Gozo
Our youngest now wants to buy one ....
Definitely a trip to do ! Worth the money.

  • 5 star ratingBrilliant fun for Segway beginners My wife, daughter and myself are Segway newbies. The tour guide was fantastic and very knowledgeable and took great care to ensure we could handle the Segway before setting off. The cliff tip tour is fantastic with great views and I now have excellent photos of this fun trip. Those that know me will know I soon write reviews. The fact that this was so much fun that it means I've immediately written a review should tell you all you need to know.

  • 5 star ratingSimply dont miss this when in Gozo Had a party of 10 staying with us in munxar. A friend sent us flyer in uk so i emailed kevin. Response was almost immediate, charming and helpful. This approach was repeated on meeting him in munxar square ( just 300m from our house!). The trip and cost is advertised as one hour long but kevin took great care and time to introduce the 7 of us participating to operating the segways before setting off on the sanap cliffs sunset route. Like others on here, the trip can only be described as outstanding. Other adjectives that come to mind are fun, breathtaking, beautiful, exciting, charming, value, caring, innovative. Wouldnt miss it for the world and look forward to doing all of his different venues. Support this young man with this great business venture.

  • 5 star ratingTrip of discovery. My trip on the Segway in Gozo started as an opportunity to show part of Gozo to my relative from the USA. But I have to express the pleasant surprise I got by discovering part of Gozo not even I knew and I have been to Gozo many times. The afternoon was worth every cent apart from riding the Segway itself, which was surprisingly easy and a marvel of technology, we went through areas which are very picturesque and off the beaten track. I discovered more places in those few hours than I did in days of going to Gozo.

  • 5 star ratingBest time in Malta It's been one of the best experiences in my life. We have taken the tour for 2,5 hours which lasted even longer and Javier, our guide, was super attentive and welcoming during the entire tour, so it felt more that we knew each other for ages. I learned a lot about Malta and just enjoyed the company of the guide and great sceneries around. My friend and me quickly adapted to the new transportation, namely segway, which turned out to be one of the nicest and easiest way to discover the island. At the end of the trip we have seen a beautiful cave with an incredible view over the lagoon and beach nearby. We had a great time and would be happy to recommend this company to anyone who is willing to visit Gozo. Kevin who runs the company was very accommodating and easy to communticate with. Thank you guys for the great memories.

  • 5 star ratingAsk for Javier! Writing a review seems almost a waste of time with 310 out of 312 giving a rating of Excellent. I'll happily add to that total for what it's worth. Great way to see the island. Javier our guide was fantastic. 4 hours for €44 each including the slightly scary trip to the lighthouse. It's steep and high and coming down takes nerve or Javier to help! Just the best half day you could spend on Gozo. Fantastic fun and the best way to see the island. Book it.

  • 5 star ratingOne of the best tours we have EVER been on! We travel a lot and our bike tour in Gozo was one of the best city tours we have ever been on! Javier, who normally does the Segway tours, took us all over the island and stopped at some of his favorite spots around the island as well as whenever we wanted to stop and take pictures. I felt like this was such a personalized tour and Javier did such a wonderful job finding things that would be interesting for my husband and I but also for our two year old daughter (she had a BLAST!).

The island is very hilly but the ebikes made the 4 hour trek around the island so easy and we were able to see so much. One of our favorite parts of the tour was the lunch stop, at a traditional bakery, for pizza and other snacks.

We stayed in Valetta and had to take the bus to Cirkewwa and then the ferry to Gozo. This was very easy to navigate and very inexpensive ( I want to say the bus was 1.50 per person, one way, and then the ferry was only like 4.50 per person, round trip). Javier met us at the terminal and we left shortly after a few instructions on using the ebikes.

I cannot boast about this tour enough, awesome tour guide, awesome views and information, and VERY family friendly. Javier was awesome and I would recommend this tour to anyone looking to experience Gozo in a unique way. Seriously if you are travelling to Malta, book this tour!

  • 5 star ratingAn entertaining time My friend organised a segway tour for part of a hen's celebration (Gharb tour). Javier was incredibly patient and carefully showed everyone how to use the segways. Since we were a large group there weren't enough segways, but ebikes were provided. I immediately opted for the latter, and we all had such a wonderful time. Got to see bits of Gozo that we don't often visit. Will definitely recommend and do again.

  • 5 star ratingFun way to see some out of the way places I have been on other Segway tours before but the standard of instruction for other Segway novices in the group was the best I have seen. Xavier, the spanish guide, explained everything well, with a particular emphasis on safety and there was plenty of practice time before we set off on the tour. Water was provided.
This was the Marsalforn/Salt Pans/Ta Pinu tour lasting almost 3 hours. I have visited Gozo on many occasions but this tour took us to places I have never seen. There were occasional photo stops when Xavier explained the history and background of several features.
We had a brilliant time and I would recommend this tour without reservation. Do not worry if you have never been on a Segway before, they are really easy to operate/ride/drive.

  • 5 star ratingBest decision you can make. We had a really great adventure during this segway tour. From the beggining to the end everything went very easily. We participated as a family, the youngest child was 10 years old and she enjoyed the tour just like the others. Our tourleader, Javier was really nice he acted with the kids pretty great. We met him at Mgarr harbour and then we had a little practise as well. After we were confident the tour has begun. We saw amazing views and get known interesting things about Gozo and the Maltese community. I would absolutely recommend this Segway trip to families and group of friends as well!

  • 5 star ratingA fantastic trip (and that’s from a Segway sceptic!) I have always been wary of doing a Segway tour because I thought that I would look (and feel) like a big turnip on one and be a bit of a nuisance to others. Also, escorted tours are not really our thing.

However, I was drawn to Gozo Segway Tours because of the ability to see a lot of sights in a relatively short timescale and the excellent reviews.

And I am so glad that I did - because the tour was brilliant from start to finish.

I booked the 3 hour Salt Pans tour between 9am and 12am. I made an enquiry on their website and everything was easily arranged within a couple of emails. I think they limit the numbers on each tour to small groups and for ours it was just my family of 4.

Javier met us at the agreed spot and made learning to ride the Segway fun and easy. We were on our way within 15 minutes.

The tour was brilliant in every way and we saw so much more than just the Salt Pans. Javier was the perfect guide throughout with excellent insights and he made sure we were looked after at all times.

I highly recommend Gozo Segway Tours & Javier. At 39 euros per person the trip felt like great value and really enhanced our appreciation of this wonderful and intriguing island.

  • 5 star ratingWonderful! My family, including my daughters ages 11 and 14 enjoyed every minute of our tour. We chose the Salt Pans tour and were very pleased. After experiencing many rough roads driving around Malta, I was grateful for the relatively smooth surfaces throughout most of the tour. There were a few rough spots but we took them slowly so they were manageable. We stopped periodically to get a closer look at some magnificent scenery and to stretch our legs, which is absolutely necessary on a 2 hour Segway tour. Many of the places we stopped we would have never seen on our own as they are not mentioned in the tourist literature and were some of the most spectacular of our trip.

Kevin was informative, helpful and friendly. He responded promptly to my initial inquiries and was a terrific guide. He also has a great photographic eye and took some wonderful photos of our family during the tour. His tour prices are very reasonable.

  • 5 star ratingIF YOU DO NOTHING ELSE, DO THIS!! After much deliberation, my wife and I decided to book the two and a half hour tour for the family (5 children). We had no experience of Segway's and with a ten year old in tow, were concerned as to safety and adequate tutorials. We needn't have worried. Tutorial excellent, experience even better!

My children and I agree that this has been the highlight of our holiday. Peter was extremely helpful, knew his stuff and showed concern for the kids. He had water supplies on hand and stopped frequently at places of outstanding beauty.

Like I said, if you do nothing else, do this. It is one of the best and exciting ways to see the island. Well done Peter and keep it up. We hope to see you again when we visit Gozo next.
